Hi, I’m LydiaGrace Quine-Espiritu Gray. People call me LydiaGrace. I’m one of six girls – Christina, Hannah, LydiaGrace, Tabitha, Priscilla, and SaraJoy – given to Rex and Melissa Espiritu. I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – that is why I’m still a Pirates fan. I learned to sing, read, write, swim, bike, and play piano in Princeton/Vincentown, New Jersey – that is why I feel very at home on the East Coast. I went to middle school, high school, and college, fell in love and got married to Jonathon Gray in and around New Castle, Indiana – that is where we’ll be if we say we’re going home for the holidays.
I am so excited to be the Seminarian at Kingston this year. I am a cradle-born Presbyterian, but I’ve always been in the pews or in the choir corner, never in the committee meeting or the preacher’s pulpit. I felt the call to ministry after my Momma passed away from cancer when I was fifteen; when I told my Daddy, a current Presbyterian minister, he recommended Princeton Theological Seminary as the perfect place to discern my calling. I’ve finished my second year at PTS and with one more year to go I am eager and a little anxious to start implementing what I’ve learned, not to mention continue to learn from all of you what it means to minister to one another outside the classroom and in the church. May God continue to bless us and be with us on this journey we travel together.
