The 2018-2019 Women’s Bible Study group will meet on Thursday, January 10, from noon until 2:00 PM to study Lesson 5, “God with Us When We’re Powerless.” This month’s study will be led by Kathy Petersen. There will always be battles to fight – battles against disease, against despair and depression, against our own sin and that of others. But no matter how powerless we feel, we need to know that God is with us. The story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 shows us an example of how to commit ourselves to God as ally when life wages war against us and we don’t know what to do. Jehoshaphat and his people actively positioned themselves according to God’s plan in spite of the temptation to rely on themselves and their army. God told them “This battle is not for you to fight; take your position, stand firm, and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf.” 2 Chronicles 20:15-17.
All women are invited for lunch and Bible study. Bring a sandwich. Beverage and dessert will be provided. For more information or to request transportation, call Christy Parker at the church office, 609-921-8895.
