Sharyl Dixon, KPC Pastor

In a historic congregational meeting on Sunday December 15, 2013 the members of Kingston Presbyterian Church voted to approve the recommendation of the Pastor Nominating Committee to call Rev. Sharyl M. Dixon to be the church’s full-time Pastor. Rev. Dixon began her pastorate at KPC on January 1st, 2014. Pastor Sharyl and her husband Peyton live in the manse adjacent to the church.

M.Div.  Princeton Theological Seminary, 2005.

B.A.  in History & Social Science, California State University at Chico, 1992.

(Please note: Sharyl rhymes with Carl)

Sharyl Dixon was born at Travis Air Force Base in California (CA). From age 3 until 11, her family was stationed in Florida, Spain, Las Vegas and finally returned to California, just over the hill from Travis AFB. There, up against the coastal hills and central valley of California, Sharyl attended school, was an active member of her church and a leader in her community.

During her college years, she spent time leading youth groups and working at a Presbyterian summer camp and began to explore her call to ministry. She received her BA from California State University at Chico in history and social science.

Over the past 20 years, Sharyl has served churches in California and Aberdeen, Scotland, the University Chapel at Princeton, Lafayette Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, NY, and the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run in PA, where she was associate pastor. She is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and she was delighted to return to the Garden State as KPC’s Pastor.

Pastor Sharyl and Peyton Dixon

In her spare time, Sharyl is a proud aunt, loves to read, kayak and cook. She is married to Philadelphia’s favorite John Adams interpreter, Peyton Dixon, and she enjoys finding new ways to balance her roles as wife and pastor.
