In September 2017 our congregation began an exciting adventure to better understand who God is, how God works, and who we are, through God’s story as told in the scriptures. For 31 weeks (breaking for a few rest stops) KPC Pastor, Rev. Sharyl Dixon will lead us as we explore The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People by Zondervan – Max Lucado (Foreword), Randy Frazee (Foreword).
During Sunday morning worship we will hear the good news in each chapter of The Story. Our ongoing Bible studies provide an opportunity for conversation and discussion in groups to consider how God’s story connects to our own stories.
You may follow The Story on the Sermon Archive by following the links for the audio and written versions of sermons, or the links to the YouTube readings of chapters from The Story by LydiaGrace Quine-Espiritu Gray. Let us all continue to pray that this encounter with God’s word will transform us and our community.

Pastor Sharyl begins our journey through the 31 Chapters of “The Story” with “Creation and Fall” based on the first chapter of “The Story” which actually covers the first 8 chapter of Genesis. Pastor Sharyl’s sermon focuses on the “upper story” – God’s purpose and plan – and the “lower story” – which is our story, that of man and woman created by God. Listen to Pastor Sharyl’s sermon, read the story if you purchased the book or listen on the website to Lydia Grace Quine-Espiritu Gray, KPC’s seminary intern, read Chapter 1 of The Story on YouTube.
