Letters from Paul

KPC worship at KPC on Sunday August 16th at 10am DST in person and online led by Rev. Sharyl Dixon. Elder Scott Hodge served as Liturgist and Leah Hodge led Time for Youth. Pastor Sharyl’s message, “Building on a Firm Foundation with Faith, Love and Hope” continued the theme, “Letters from Paul.” Guest Organist Steven Russell provided worship music and accompanied Peyton Dixon’s vocal solo for the Offertory, “Fairest Lord Jesus” arr. Susan W. Henry. Pastor Sharyl recognized Seminarian Edu Hughes on the final day of his summer internship at KPC. After worship the congregation enjoyed refreshments and ice cream celebrating Edu’s summer at KPC.

KPC worship on Sunday August 9th at 10am DST in person and online. Deacon Amy Raduzycki welcomed everyone and shared the announcements as Pastor Sharyl was away. Deacon Amy also served as Liturgist, led Time for Youth & Prayers of the People. Seminarian Edu Hughes brought the message, “Clothed in Christ” based on Colossians 3:12-17. Guest Organist Michael Cooney provided worship music and presented the Offertory, “Chorale Prelude #5, Deck thyself, my soul, with gladness”, Johannes Brahms. After worship the congregation enjoyed refreshments in the Assembly Room and participated in the presentation on financial scams by representatives of Bank of America.

KPC Worship & Communion on Sunday July 26th at 10am DST led by Rev. Sharyl Dixon in person and online. Melissa Hodge served as Liturgist and led Time for Youth. Pastor Sharyl’s message, “Paul’s Letter to the Church at Ephesus” was based on Ephesians 1:16-18, 2:8-10, 3:16-20, 4:4-6, 29-32, 5:1-2, 33 and 6:1, 5-7, 6:10-11. Seminarian Edu Hughes led Prayers of the People and Organist/Pianist Nancy Wright provided worship music. Pastor Sharyl led the celebration of Communion assisted by Elders Bill Bachman & Elise Cheng as Servers. After worship the congregation enjoyed refreshments in the Assembly Room and about 11:15am the second session of Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children and adults was held.

Pastor Sharyl led Time for Youth and continued the Summer theme, “Letters from Paul”, with the message, “Paul’s Letter to the Churches in Galatia” based on Galatians 2:16, 21, 3:23-28, 5:1,19-26 and 6:1, 7-9. Seminarian Edu Hughes led Prayers of the People. Guest Organist Michael Cooney provided worship music and presented the Offertory, a Cello duet with Nancy Wright, Organist, “Meditation”, Georgeann Weaver. After worship the congregation enjoyed lunch in the Assembly Room and several members stayed to explore and discuss the book, “Being Presbyterian in a Dysvangelical America”* with Pastor Sharyl. *Authors, Ted V. Pastor Sharyl’s message continued the summer theme, “Letters from Paul” with the message, “Dear Romans….”. Seminarian Edu Hughes led the Prayers of the People. Guest Pianist/Organist Michael Cooney provided worship music and the Offertory, “Andantino quasi Allegretto” César Franck. The congregation enjoyed refreshments after worship in the Assembly Room.

KPC Worship with Communion on Sunday June 14 at 11am DST in person and online ed by Rev. Sharyl Dixon. Seminary Summer Intern Edu Hughes served as Liturgist. Pastor Sharyl introduced the summer theme with her message, “Letters from Paul” based on Romans 2, Philippians 1:3, Colossians 3:12-17. Worship music was provided by Pianist/Organist Dr. Gonzalo Aguilar, and Cantor Peyton Dixon, who also conducted the Choir’s presentation of “Come to the Table of the Lord”, Sally Albrecht and Jay Althouse. Pastor Sharyl led the Communion Service assisted by servers Elder Brad Clifton and Deacon Robin DeGutis. After worship the congregation enjoyed refreshments in the Assembly Room.
